Conference Presentation at SPIE Photonics West 2025:
“Innovative liquid flat-jet system for microfluidic applications in vacuum”
Date: 20.03.2025
From January 25 to 30, SPIE Photonics West 2025, the world’s largest optics and photonics event, took place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. It brought together researchers, engineers, innovators, and business leaders from around the world for an exciting week of research exchange and collaboration opportunities. This year, the conference included over 4,500 technical presentations at more than 100 individual conferences.
ADMISYS successfully participated in SPIE Photonics West 2025, presenting developments of the current research project “KOPAS” at the sub-conference Microfluidics, BioMEMS, and Medical Microsystems XXIII.
We introduced a compact, versatile liquid flat-jet system designed for vacuum operation, enabling high-precision spectroscopic studies in the far-UV and soft X-ray range. The setup produces a stable, high-speed flat liquid jet with sub-micrometer thickness using a high-precision nozzle and an advanced microfluidic pump for accurate flow and pressure control. Its robust performance, low sample consumption, and high spatial resolution make it well-suited for time-resolved and high-throughput experiments in chemistry, biology, and catalysis. The system’s capabilities are demonstrated through integration into a table-top soft X-ray absorption spectrometer, enabling detailed investigation of dynamic molecular processes.
The contribution has now been published as a presentation-on-demand and a proceedings article.
